The second TxT Direct service offered allows you to search Blue
Direct using your mobile phone by simply sending a search request
via SMS to 84070.
This is very useful if, for example, you are stuck somewhere in Telford and
need the number of a local Taxi company. To get results back you would simply
send a message like
'BD TAXI TELFORD' to '84070'.
The message itself must be structured in a certain format. Firstly, the name
of the service must be present (in this case its Blue Direct) so 'BD'
followed by a 'space' is needed. Next is your keyword of the
service that you are looking for, in this example it is 'TAXI'
followed by another 'space'. Lastly is the area you are located
(this example is 'TELFORD'). Once that is done it can be sent
to '84070'
Take a look at the screenshots (left) for an example of formating :
The information you receive in the return SMS message will contain
3 companies along with their main telephone number. There is
a limit of 3 companies due to the restrictions on the length
of an SMS message that handsets can receive (currently 160 characters).
Each message you receive will cost 25p |
